As a shy introvert, I find it hard to talk about myself, but here goes. In spite of the shyness, I get a real high from talking to readers (that’s you!) about their lives and the books we share. I like to knit and draw and do needlepoint and practice the harp. I love flowers and the high deserts and mountains of the west and my Glock and having a sparkling clean house (which I hope to achieve someday). I’m a scientist turned daydreamer. I’ve been a field camp cook, mineral museum curator, soda jerk, student, geologist, materials analyst, antique jewelry dealer, teacher, and writer. Writing is my favorite.

If you want to know why I’m qualified to dream up stories about western men and gems and horses, here’s my job application. I have an M.A. in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University and a Graduate Gemologist certificate from the Gemological Society of America, as well as degrees in geology. I grew up on a farm, so horses, dogs, bunnies, etc. and the outdoors have always been part of my life.

I live in California with the world’s most wonderful husband.
