Did You Know…
Happy Valentine’s Day and all the hearts and flowers—and chocolate—your heart desires. Yeah, yeah… In spite of my crabby mood, I have to admit that this isn’t a bad time to take stock of what you value, what you want, and what you’ll give. (Love is a good choice, btw.)
I hate to mention the bad word, but there’s this COVID thing that’s been disrupting
everyone’s lives for the past couple of years. I’m a pretty classic introverted writer, so it’s taken a long time to give me cabin fever. Now I’m feeling it. Grr.
The result is that the DH and I are dealing with all kinds of stuff we’d pushed under the door mat for years, stuff like boxes of old receipts. You want a trip down memory lane? Try looking at faded bits of paper that rub your nose in what you spent money on ten years ago. My reaction: how could I have done that?
All of which is long-winded way of getting to the point that we really need to lead more (if you’ll forgive what has become a cliché) mindful lives. Pay attention to what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and what impact we’re having on our loved ones.
So back to the beginning of this, Did You Know that there’s a great big wide world out there? There are sunrises and sunsets and clouds and flowers and a limitless sky and… People! So back to Valentine’s Day… if there’s someone to hang on to you when you’ve fallen off a cliff, you’re very lucky.
Tell them how grateful you are!
